The Shared Service & Outsourcing Network (SSON) is a growing community of over 7,000 global members.

Established in the late nineties, SSON was set up to enable industry professionals to share information, ideas and best practice solutions for how to improve business processes.

SSON focuses on developing its members through providing training, tools, and networking opportunities. Our staff works from international offices in New York, London, Singapore, Sydney, Johannesburg, Berlin and Dubai to research current trends and developments in shared services.

Barbara Hodge
SSON, Shared Services News Editor, USA

Barbara Hodge has edited  Shared Services News since 2000. She is responsible for all content and format, and develops forward themes with the support of the Advisory Board.

Prior to  Shared Services News, Barbara was Editorial Director at Armstrong Information, a London-based specialist publishing firm, with responsibility for the launch and editorial content of a number of management journals including corporate communication, change management and business process reengineering. "Shared services and outsourcing," says Barbara, "was a natural progression."

Sarah Clayton
SSON, Global Director of Strategy and Planning, UK

Sarah has worked in the IQPC group for 13 years and has seen the take up of the shared services model and SSON's membership grow exponentially in that time. Prior to working with SSON Sarah was Managing Director of IQPC's London office and started offices in the US and Singapore for the group.

Jamie Liddell

Jamie Liddell has worked in journalism since he was a 17-year-old cub reporter for The Tico Times, Costa Rica's highly regarded English-language weekly newspaper. Holding an MA in English from Clare College, Cambridge University, Jamie comes to SSON from the world of overseas property publishing where he worked on the industry's best-selling publications for the UK and Ireland, and gave seminars at consumer and b2b exhibitions and conferences internationally.

Jolie Newman

Jolie Newman possesses 25 years of expertise in public relations and business communications in a wide variety of technology and professional services-related sectors. For the past 10 years, her focus has been on writing, planning, managing and executing the external communications programs for organizations in the outsourcing and shared services marketspaces. Companies for which she has provided these services include G2R, Exult, The Sales Consultancy, Siebel Systems' Global Services Division, TPI, NelsonHall, Ross Research, SharedXpertise, HROA, Milbank Tweed, Lockheed Martin’s outsourcing division and EquaTerra.
