An objective panel of judges have been carefully selected to evaluate and score each application. This panel contains leading experts and practitioners in the shared services field. Judging organizations are excluded from submitting applications for the awards. The top entries in each category will be selected as finalists and notified in advance of the Awards Ceremony. Supporting sponsors help make the Shared Services Excellence Awards possible. In no way are they involved in determining award criteria or decisions about award winners. Supporting sponsors may not be on the judging panel for the Shared Services Excellence Awards.

Applications Will be Taken For Each of the Following Categories:

1. Best Mature Shared Services Organisation (3+ years in operation)
2. Best New Shared Services Organisation (under 3 years in operation)
3. Shared Services Leader of the Year
4. Shared Services Employer of the Year

Best Mature Shared Services Organisation

This category will examine:

1. Document history, growth, obstacles overcome, expansion, progress in achieving objectives and development of the SSO. (25% of total application score)
2. Document how the SSO directly contributes to the overall success of the organization and how this is measured, monitored and communicated.
3. Describe use of technology, how customer service is measured and optimized, how processes are evaluated and improved and innovation is used and promoted.
4. Describe cost and process efficiencies gained, return on investment, changes to the culture within the SSC and why the SSC's customer thinks it has been a success.

Best New Shared Services Organisation

This category will examine:

1. Describe your design and start up strategy, procedures & implementation.
2. Describe competence in contributing to overall success of the organization.
3. Document change management and communication strategies used and initial systems and process development.
4. Provide evidence of a strategic plan for future development.

Shared Services Employer of the Year

This category will examine:

1. Achievements and Contributions of the Individual
2. Best Innovative Ideas of Individual
3. Best Leadership or Team Player

Shared Services Leader of the Year 2008

This category will examine:

1. Describe the strategic role the leader plays in determining how the SSC is driven and integrated throughout the organization as a whole.
2. Describe the leader's vision for the future of their SSC.
3. Document innovative and successful programs initiated and driven by the candidate and how results were measured.
4. Describe how the candidate has contributed to, or played a role in, the development of the field of shared services as a whole.
