At a recent Gartner Symposium in Cape Town, analyst Partha Iyengar said he expects South Africa to make progress as an offshore destination, citing an additional 40,000 jobs to be created through offshoring by 2014, and 120,000 employed in the domestic insourced sector. He also said offshore contact center jobs would likely more than triple – from 8,000 in 2010 to 30,000 in 2015.
