April 22, 2014 - London & Dublin

With its robotic automation software platform, and global news outlets and social media feeds raging about robotic automation, it's no surprise that Global Hot 100 Company Blue Prism has taken centre stage..

Along with being named ‘Cool Vendor’ by Gartner and featured in the Economist, Blue Prism and SSON have announced a partnership for the 14th Annual European Shared Services & Outsourcing Week (SS&O Week) taking place in Dublin next month. Blue Prism’s CEO, Alastair Bathgate, will be chairing the Technology Track during the main conference. (www.ssoweek.com)

The partnership is not only timely – it simply makes sense. Robotics is more than just a buzz word in the shared services industry – it has already revolutionised manufacturing, delivering efficiency and providing high quality products for consumers. As revenue growth remains weak in the global economy, a spur demand for continued cost reduction and productivity improvement will only increase and robotic automation is likely to be a major part of the outsourcing solution in the near future.

This is a key topic for discussion at the European SS&O Week, during which shared services and outsourcing leaders from across the continent gather for information-sharing, insight into best practice and advanced technologies as well as networking opportunities. SSON has continued to cover robotic process automation (RPA), with articles including, ‘Will Robotics Leapfrog BPO?’ and ‘RPA: We’re at the Cusp of Something Big – But Only if the Industry Can Get its Head Out of the FTE Model.’

Along with RPA, SSON’s programme also covers the rise of GBS, the new stage of mobility, cloud adoption and other timely topics. Sessions are broken down into plenary sessions, in-depth workshops and site tours to Microsoft, Ingersoll-Rand and Oakley, as well as functional fast tracks. Speakers and attendees represent a range of FTSE 500 companies and other leading organisations including AstraZeneca, British Gas, Cargill, Coca-Cola, Diageo, GlaxoSmithKline, Marks & Spencer, Microsoft, Southwest One, and Thales.

The European SS&O Week will take place at the Convention Centre Dublin, Ireland from 12-15 May, 2014. The event programme is available online at www.ssoweek.com. Conference pass fees apply; contact events@ssonetwork.com for pricing.
