Managed Certification® and Online Learning Program at a Glance

  • The certification covers 10 areas our advisory board and members have identified as core skills or competencies
  • Each competency will contain approximately 10 modules (including a shared services focus as well as a module with an outsourcing focus)
  • Certification is valid for two years from date of certification.
  • Successful completion of all e-learning modules in a given competency lead to a final on-line examination. A pass rate of 80% applies to all tests.
  • Certification points are also awarded for professional credentials, shown through years of experience, formal education, visibility through presentations/white papers, etc.

The new SSON Managed Certification® and Online Learning Program - Shared Services Outsourcing Professional (SSOP) - fills a much-needed gap in the skill level of the current shared services talent pool. Given the trend of staff entering shared services from what is generally a purely functional background, many are finding themselves not well-equipped to provide the value-adding, customer-centric services required by today’s ever more savvy business customers.

In designing this program, SSON has researched skill requirements and core competencies across a range of functions and industries. We have taken advice from some of the leading practitioners in the global marketplace, and are delighted to offer a comprehensive, monitored online program.

Details and Specifics of the SSON Managed Certification® and Online Learning Program

Current Skills Assessment

  • Each interested party starts with an automated on-line assessment tool, integrated into the program, which highlights key gaps and therefore identifies areas of heightened focus for the purposes of the program.  In order to complete the program all areas will need to be covered, but the assessment will highlight the areas of greatest need.

E-Learning Competencies and Modules

  • The certification covers 10 areas we have identified as core skills or competencies, eg, customer satisfaction, financial, contracting, quality assurance, etc.
  • The program includes a Management Track as well as a Practitioner Track, aligned to the requirements of individuals’ internal roles.
  • Each competency will contain approximately 10 modules.
  • Each competency will include a module with a shared services focus as well as a module with an outsourcing focus.

Certification

  • Upon completion of the program, and having passed tests in each module, participants will acquire the professional accreditation Shared Services Outsourcing Professional (SSOP).
  • Certification is valid for two years from date of certification.
  • Once two years are passed, the accreditation can be renewed through an online refresher exam, which will include any relevant new learnings that have emerged since the last test was taken. A minimum pass rate will be required and an administrative fee will be due.
  • Successful completion of all e-learning modules in a given Competency lead to a final on-line examination. A pass rate of 80% applies to all tests. Professional credentials as well, shown through years of experience, formal education, visibility through presentations/white papers, etc.

Learner Investment
