MDeC joins the inaugural Shared Services and Outsourcing conference in Malaysia 2013 as Partner

"Malaysia ranks among the top 3 countries in the world in terms of global sourcing of services. The SSO sector will continue to flourish in Asia-Pacific, and especially in Malaysia, as businesses consider alternate locations for service and business delivery, given the increase in acceptance of offshore delivery and scarcity of skill sets in certain markets."
Dr. Datuk Subramaniam, Minister of Human Resource, Malaysia

SSON is delighted to announce MDeC (Multimedia Development Corporation) as partners and keynote speakers for our inaugural SSO Malaysia Summit!

The event lasts from 14 -16 May 2013 and is tailored specifically for leading shared or business services in the region, as well as consultants, outsourcing and solution providers in the local market. The summit delves into the challenges of running a successful shared service center in Malaysia delving into issues specific to talent management, innovation in end-to-end process, data analytics and creating a strong brand.

"MDeC’s support for the event demonstrates just how much potential for growth and development there is within the Malaysian SSO Industry and will provide fantastic insight into future plans within this space for the country."
Sally Fletcher, Divisional Director Asia, SSON

The SSO industry has been an important part of Malaysia’s ICT-led transformation into a high-income, knowledge-based economy. At present, there are over 200 MSC Malaysia Status SSO companies made up of major local players and multinationals who have set up operations in Malaysia, supporting various local and international services including Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) and Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO).

The Shared Services and Outsourcing industry in MSC Malaysia has enjoyed positive growth since its inception in 2002. MSC Malaysia SSO has amplified the shift towards exports; in 2011, the MSC Malaysia SSO industry generated export revenues worth USD1.9 billion.

Michael Warren, Director of the Shared Services & Outsourcing Cluster at MDeC said "Malaysia today continues to attract foreign investments in the global service operations from multinational firms due to ourstrategic location, trade-economic ties and the easy setup of businesses via MSC Malaysia. We are pleased to partner with SSON for their inaugural Shared Services & Outsourcing Malaysia event to further elevate Malaysia’s position as a global hub for SSO".

Hence this is the perfect time to add Malaysia to the SSON’s hugely successful global series of events. As veterans of the Shared Services & Outsourcing industry (our SSOW event in Singapore is now in its 16th year), SSON looks forward to another fantastic gathering of leading Shared Services and Outsourcing leaders.
