Ankur Shah

CFO Careem

Ankur is chief financial officer at Careem, where he leads the finance and corporate development team.

Prior to joining Careem. Ankur worked in multiple roles in investing, management and fundraising for global impact investment firm Acumen Fund, where as head of educational investments he conceptualised, raised and managed new funds for Education in South Asia and Africa.

Prior to this, he formed the venture capital team for multi-billion-dollar global private investment partnership Legatum Ventures. Ankur was also the special projects manager for the Robin Hood Foundation in New York where he developed, managed and delivered 25 libraries which now serve 20,000 students within public schools in low-income neighborhoods.

He was also product development director at mondus.com, a European B2B exchange for SMEs operating in 12 countries and raised $170m in venture and growth funding.

Ankur holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University, and a Master of Public Administration in International Development from Harvard's Kennedy School where he was a Reynolds and a Soros Fellow.

The $1.2 billion transport company of Dubai was founded in 2012 and in a span of 5 years expanded to 100 cities in 14 countries in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.
