Rob Van den Wijngaard

Manager Finance Shared Service Centre University Leiden

Rob is responsible for building and implementing the Financial Shared Service Centre at Leiden University. With currently 38 fte his Shared Service Centre supports one of Europe’s oldest (1575) and leading international research universities with a total of 24.500 students and 4.500 employees.

Since the start back in 2009, Rob has managed to improve his service center year after year. Key achievements are transforming the paper intensive processes into fully digitalized processes and applying continuous monitoring on financial data to continuously improve. Success comes from focus on change management, stacking up several smaller projects creating a multiplier effect and paying attention to the integral impact of each project on people, processes, IT and governance.
