Artificial intelligence, remote teams, the gig economy and consumerization of HR; are just a few of the factors which represent the shifting sands of HR shared services. In fact it’s no stretch to say that we’re in revolutionary times. With external challenges such as Covid-19, internal pressures from stressed employers and the introduction of intelligent technology, HR is under pressure like never before. However with crisis also comes opportunity. The opportunity to create an agile workforce, fast-forward digital transformation and provide flexibility to your workforce with remote working.  These are just some of the topics we’ll be covering online at the 2020 HR Shared Services Transformation Digital Summit.

As well as two days of exciting presentations and panels, we’re introducing a “Future of Work” focus day for the first time. According to SSON’s COVID-19 survey data, over a third of respondents believe that they will accelerate initiatives to reduce delivery dependency on people and physical locations, while 31% see themselves more aggressively designing and implementing Future of Work concepts, potentially rethinking employment as a workforce management concept.  This gives us the opportunity to deep dive into topics such as: enabling automation and artificial intelligence adoption, rethinking employment models for the gig economy and planning for future talent needs. Free to attend and broadcast live all over the world, we’ll look forward to seeing you there.

Digital HR Transformation: Analytics, CX and Enabling Technology
Within the midst of the digital revolution, top tier HR shared services are reimagining the services they deliver to the organization whilst simultaneously improving how they operate. In order to compete, your focus needs to be on three areas; improved employee experience, digitization of HR services and insightful analytics.  Hear one firm’s story on how they found the perfect balance and the impact of this digital revolution on their organization.
10:00 – 10:45 EST (15:00 – 15:45 BST)
Panel Discussion: Adapting To A Remote Workforce: Productivity, Engagement And Communication
In 2020 many of us were catapulted into remote working with little or no notice, whilst some organizations thrived on the challenge others found themselves coming up short. In this panel we discuss how HR shared services can adapt to a remote workforce, the opportunities it presents and how to maintain the standards you’ve worked so hard to build up.
•             Adapting your HRSSC to a remote workforce
•             Tools and technology that can assist in remote working
•             Maintaining productivity and quality of work
•             Keeping teams engaged and committed

Human Capital Analytics: Where Are We Now?
Data analytics and HR is a topic that’s been around for a while now and claims to revolutionize recruiting, performance management, compensation and retention. But how much has actually been done? Who’s actually using it, which processes are covered and what has been the impact of their efforts?  This session showcases real-life examples of human capital analytics implementation and highlights where it’s having the most impact both within HR and to inform strategy for the wider business.

12:00 – 12:45 EST (17:00 – 17:45 BST)
Building A Superhuman HR Team Using AI Chatbots
It’s clear that AI chatbots are redefining traditional roles within HR shared services and in many processes, such as recruitment and onboarding, already represent the first port-of-call for the employee. We all know the benefits, but what are the challenges HRSSC’s should watch out for when implementing chatbots and how can the transition from person to bot best be managed?
•             Knowing how to orient, develop, engage and work side-by-side with a chat-bot
•             Introducing your chatbot team to your employees and tackling resistance
•             Re-defining the tasks within your HRSSC to make full use of bot and employee
•             Beyond recruitment: Utilising chatbots in learning and development, benefits and retention

Day 2

09:00 – 09:45 EST (14:00 – 14:45 BST)
Consumerising HR Shared Services to Increase Employee Engagement
It may seem like a tall order when there is so much else going on, but a focus on improving employee experience is a task that pays dividends many times over. Whether it’s creating a more efficient end-to-end process, embedding self-service software or finding a way to tailor services to suit your customers; the impact of these initiatives on talent management, retention and employee wellbeing is far reaching. In this session we talk about how you can achieve that whilst still meeting cost saving and productivity targets.
•             Taking CX processes from external to internal customers
•             How to create value and impact within your HRSSC
•             Creating a service mind-set that’s proactive not reactive

10:00 – 10:45 EST (15:00 – 15:45 BST)
The Big Re-Set! How Are CHROs Dealing With The New Normal?
There is no going back from the changes the Covid-19 crisis has produced. Many CHRO’s say that remote working is now the ‘new normal’ for their firm and HR policies, technology and even working hours are being quickly adapted to respond. At a transformational time like this, pooling our expertise can only help and the HR community must lean on each other for the good of their employees. That’s why we have created this session to see how those at the top are tackling the following areas:

Organzational Agility and HR Shared Services: How To Thrive In 2020
The ability to make rapid changes and respond to an ever shifting market, has never been so important.  Whether your workforce has been drastically scaled-back, employees asked to perform different duties or there is a rapid adoption of new technology; HR is at the centre of the change and needs to understand how to respond. In this panel discussion we cover:
•             Best practice in responding if your organization is rapidly changing
•             Building an agile team that thrives on adapting
•             Understanding when to flex and when standards should be maintained

Future of Work Focus Day
Preparing HR Shared Services For Tomorrow’s Workforce

The “Future of Work” is having an enormous impact on HR Shared Services. The model is being reconfigured by the impact of two major trends: automation and the increased demand for “value-added” services.  While some organisations are choosing to plug the skills-gap with robots, others are choosing to employ gig workers or re-skill their existing staff. What’s not an option is to wait and see.  With this in mind SSON have created a focus day to answer your questions on the “Future of Work” and help establish what remains to be done within your organization to leverage the opportunities of a digitized future. This focus day is designed to be interactive, so come armed with questions for our panel of experts!

09:00 – 09:45 EST (14:00 – 14:45 BST)
Overcoming The Barriers To Intelligent Automation Adoption Within HR
The benefits of AI adoption within HR are widely touted, and whilst some HRSSCs have made a start (with pilots and a handful of bots) there are few that have achieved large scale implementation. In fact SSON’s 2020 State of the Industry Survey reported that just 38% of respondents were using intelligent automation within their HRSSC. Whilst in some cases this is down to budget, however there are other key barriers to adoption that must be overcome. In this session we talk about how to do just that.
•             Addressing the talent gap by upskilling or recruiting the right people
•             Mitigating concerns over privacy of confidential data
•             Handling the challenges of integration with current systems
•             Getting buy-in from leadership, employees and HR SSC staff for AI adoption
•             Managing humans plus bots as the new blended workforce

10:00 – 10:45 EST (15:00 – 15:45 BST)
Rethinking Employment Models For The Gig Economy
Gig or contingent workers now represent about 20% of the global workforce, by 2025 this is estimated to grow to 35-40% as companies find non-traditional ways to respond to market changes and the need for new types of skills. Whilst the gig economy offers low labor costs, flexible staffing and the ability to grow fast if needed, it can also present unique challenges for HR shared services looking to manage it. In this session we look at:
•             Key challenges to watch for with gig workers
•             Adapting your processes to support gig workers
•             Can you still thrive with ever changing personnel?
•             Streamlining recruitment, onboarding and training

11:00 – 11:45 EST (16:00 – 16:45 BST)
Panel Discussion: Planning For People, Skills And Talent Of The Future
Digital technology is changing work for every employee across the globe. For shared services, advances in artificial intelligence, mobility and automation; coupled with a new breadth to the services SSCs provide is changing not only the job-scope but the opportunities within the industry. This session talks about the trends surrounding human capital and what your SSC needs to watch out for:
•             The rise of the gig economy
•             Restructuring teams and tasks as work becomes more automated
