10:20 am - 10:50 am Disruptive Robotics and AI: Beyond the Future of Online Grocery Retail

Anne Marie Neatham - Chief Operating Officer, Ocado Technology
The future of online grocery retail is today. Already artificial intelligence, robotics and automation are fundamentally liberalising online grocery shopping by enabling consumers to shop with less friction and greater delight. These cutting-edge technologies have allowed us to go full-circle to the times when the local grocer knew about our individual preferences and dietary needs and could make tailored recommendations. Today, consumers can benefit from their very own virtual stores and shop through different lenses: organic, vegan, Polish, gluten-free. This talk takes a look how these technologies could shape a future in which consumers can be delivered fresh food from farm to fork in a matter of hours. Looking ahead, we'll outline how the competencies, technology, IP and know-how that makes this possible can be applied to solve many complex problems beyond grocery for a wider societal impact.

12:20 pm - 12:40 pm AI and Customer Experience - Why Ethics is critical

Charles Radclyffe - Head of AI, Fidelity International
‘Move fast and break things’ describes Mr Zuckerberg’s approach to world-conquering technology, but also describes a toddler let loose in a new environment. If we’re serious about developing AI to improve Customer Experience, then we need to be grown-up about it; especially those of us in regulated industries - we need to try to ‘move fast’ where possible - but never, ever ‘break things’.

This presentation describes the Digital Ethics journey of Fidelity International, a leading Wealth and Asset Management firm that operates globally. Charles Radclyffe, the Head of AI at Fidelity describes how AI Ethics needs to be thought of as separate to Risk and Safety issues such as ‘explainability’, ‘transparency’ and bias; yet why it’s critical to get right if you are to win the trust of customers and colleagues in the quest for delivering AI innovation.

3:45 pm - 4:15 pm Afternoon Networking Break

4:15 pm - 4:40 pm To build Artificial Intelligence we need to first understand Intelligence

Yuval Dvir - Head of Online EMEA Partnerships, Google
Artificial neural networks are computing systems that are inspired by the biological neural networks in animal brains, and such systems can "learn" to perform tasks. Artificial neurons which are produced can transmit a signal from one to another, process it and then signal additional artificial neurons to it.

Artificial neural networks can solve problems in the same way that a human brain would and in the real world have been used in computer vision, speech recognition, video games and medical diagnosis.

·         How Google are comparing AI to human intelligence through neuroscience and technology
·         Applying new technology to industries to solve issues in mental health
·         Understanding neural connections with machine learning
img

Yuval Dvir

Head of Online EMEA Partnerships
Google

How will you be able to solve your business’s most complex problems through AI?

One answer is to develop a new operating system that is grounded in deep psychology and philosophical theory that can solve the most complex business problems.

Join the debate on how AI will take the complexity out of solving business problems, delivering real world efficiencies and real time improvements to improve competitiveness. And decide, can AI for business live up to the hype?
