8:00 am - 12:00 pm SITE TOUR A: ALBERTSONS COMPANIES: SUPPORTING BUSINESS OPERATIONS

Albertsons Companies is one of the largest food and drug retailers in the United States, with both a strong local presence and national scale. We operate stores across 34 states and the District of Columbia under 20 well-known banners including Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw’s, Acme, Tom Thumb, Randalls, United Supermarkets, Pavilions, Star Market, Haggen and Carrs, as well as meal kit company Plated based in New York City. Albertsons Companies is committed to helping people across the country live better lives by making a meaningful difference, neighborhood by neighborhood. In 2018 alone, along with the Albertsons Companies Foundation, the company gave $260 million in food and financial support. These efforts helped millions of people in the areas of hunger relief, education, cancer research and treatment, programs for people with disabilities and veterans outreach.

During this site tour, participants will:
• Learn how Albertsons National Service Center delivers high quality services and an excellent experience to their retail, distribution, manufacturing, and back office customers
• Explore their accounting, finance and employee services functions


1:00 pm - 5:00 pm SITE TOUR B: ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY: EXPANDING SHARED SERVICES

It has gone from serving 1200 FTEs to 2400 FTEs in less than three years, and the are responsible for assisting Environmental Health and Safety, the Athletics Department, Technology Services, ASU Online, the Campus Police Department are all assisted by the work of the SSO at ASU. That, while 42,000 students need to be served and assisted.

During this site tour, participants will:
• Explore ASUs new shared services offices
• Meet the CFO of ASU and hear why shared services are growing exponentially to expanded buy-in
• Tour ASU facilities including their Athletics Department, Police Department and Environmental
Health and Safety Department

1:00 pm - 1:30 pm SITE TOUR C: OAKWOOD SHARED SERVICES CENTER TOUR: A CENTER OF PRIDE

In 2018, the Oakwood app was launched, and our process of doing business began to be automated. Additionally, and to further our efficiencies, many of the field office responsibilities have been consolidated to the World Wide Shared Services Center in Phoenix, Arizona, where over 260 employees sit. This center is home to the 24-hour-service department, and all reservations for the Americas are managed there. The center has a finance department and a local sales team.
The World Wide Shared Services Center strives to provide a place of pride for their employees to work by welcoming diversity of thought, experience and background. They encourage employees’ arts and talents, and at times, leverage those creative impulses at work. By continuing to implement ways that make doing business easier they increase overall productivity and excellence of customer service.
