Shivani Bhatia

VP of Global Business Services Berlitz

Shivani runs the Business Systems Transformation (BST) Program at McGraw-Hill Education (MHE).

As their business continues to evolve, the BST program seeks to transform the Lead-to-Cash function by simplifying manual processes, integrating its systems, and enhancing the customer experience. The program has transformed the way MHE tracks opportunities, quotes, price products, place orders and record/report their revenue.

With stakeholders – all business units and shared services groups- driving the needs, requirements, and priority of each solution; the team has been steadily delivering benefits across the enterprise, and having fun along the way!

Prior to her current role, she led the Global Procure to Pay team. The primary goal was to make the department cost-neutral or “free” to the business by maximizing rebates and discounts as well as simplifying or automating day-to-day processes – without reducing onshore headcount.

Prior to joining McGraw-Hill in 2013, she worked in various consulting, technology, audit and business process re-engineering roles across a variety of industries and with a particular focus on technology-enabled process improvements.

She holds a BSBA in Management Information Systems from The Ohio State University and a black belt in Lean Six Sigma.

6:20 PM Choosing a Location that Matches Your Shared Services Goals and Needs

The trend used to be that shared services organizations sat away from the larger organization as a whole, and in places that were at a cost savings to the organization. That is changing. Many organizations are moving back to optimize the talent pool, create clarity and stay compliant. Instead of relying on the traditional model of moving to a cheaper location, just because it is cheaper.

In this session, participants will:
• Explore how organizations are leveraging their talent pools
• Examine how organizations are choosing locations
• Evaluate how automation is playing a role in the location decision
