Senior Director Research Administration, Department of Medicine

Reporting to Associate Vice President, Research Administration Shared Service Centers (RASSC) and the fiscal leader(s) of the Department of Medicine , The Senior Director manages, leads, and supervises a team of 15 -25 staff performing pre- and post-award activities for the department. This role is responsible for directing the fiscal administration of all sponsored projects within department, with a research portfolio of approximately $75 million. This position will oversee the hire, training, and supervision of all team members and works closely with Emory University's Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements to which grants and contracts are subject and to confirm that all pre-award activities are handled accordingly. Interacts collaboratively with administrators within Emory University's Office of Grant and Contract Accounting (OGCA) to ensure all post-award activities are processed appropriately. The Senior Director directs team leads and managers to resolve conflicts between Principal Investigators (PIs) and team members quickly and satisfactorily. Provides systematic, consistent, and standardized reports to DOM, School of Medicine (SOM) and Emory University administrators, and responds to requests for data and information from all relevant stakeholders. Monitors team performance relative to accuracy, timeliness, customer service and other related metrics.

This position will call upon the candidate to have a bachelor's degree and ten years of experience in fiscal management, accounting, grants and contracts management, or related field. Master's degree is strongly preferred. Previous supervisory and management experience is required.
