It’s been almost 19 years since the publication of Dave Ulrich’s original proposition for the ideal HR organisation structure in the "Boundaryless Organization" 1995 (1), and over the intervening years his HR model has been variously referred to as "shared services, centres of expertise, and business partners – the three defined specialisms of the triangle model", or the "three legged stool".
