Next Lever for HR: RPA

Siemens’ head of global HR is looking for the next lever to support HR services – and she believes it’s robotic technology. "It’s amazing to me to hear that a company implemented robotic process automation in just 2 weeks – it’s a real incentive to go after that low hanging fruit," she tells SSON's editorial team.

Speaking from Shared Services and Outsourcing Week in Amsterdam earlier this year, where she accepted the runner-up SSON Excellence Award for Customer Service, Lucy described the automated reporting suite she had spearheaded at Siemens, which created more transparency across supply chain management.

"Our initiative led to the customer being able to make better value-based business decisions, which was a real ‘gap in the market' for us," she explains. It was the ability to deliver not just to but beyond customer demand that made Siemens’ application stand out to this year’s judges.
