Axel holds a degree in Economics & Business Administration. After spending some years in Ernst & Young he joined Brenntag AG’ Corporate Controlling function in the German head office in 2004. He was later one of the pioneer team members to set up Brenntag Asia Pacific as CFO in 2008 and involved in a number of acquisitions in Southeast Asia and China. After going back to Germany as VP Corporate Controlling in 2011, Axel returned for a second tenure back to Singapore in 2017 resuming the APAC CFO. In his role he is currently responsible for Controlling, Finance, Accounting and Tax as well as overseeing Information Technology and Legal in Asia Pacific.
