In the run up to the Future of Finance and CFO Summit, SSON ran a survey to identify just how finance leaders are restructuring their role and their careers in the digitised environment. And the results are enlightening, not least of all because we see real evidence of a critical shift in focus from caretaker to business enabler. Yes, it’s still ultimately about cash flow, but it’s now about being able to generate it while still doing what you’ve always done – just differently.
I thought the level of engagement and interest was high in a wonderful venue. Many great and diverse insights provided by participants with stimulating conversations covering strategy, people, technology and processes. This type of event provides a great opportunity to learn from others and for some self reflection.
Very well organised and everyone in the room seemed to be really engaged and interested in the topics. Change is inevitable, I think finance professionals should come to the event as the requirements for accountants in today’s market are meant to address its current challenges.
Really valuable. Opened my eyes to the number of new technology solutions. Also consolidated my thinking about Finance Transformation and how it should be done. Got some great actionable insight into developing business partnering, and made me think a bit broader about what’s going on in Finance.

Overall the conference far exceeded my expectations, but there is lots of room for improvement. The caliber of presenting organisations was excellent.
That was a right balance between high level, startegical approaches presented by different companies and practical, simple examples which can be easily used/adapted in my organization.
