What Makes for a Disruptive Automation Brand?

In its simplistic sense, being a bit different is what marks out Disruptors. “If you’re being disruptive, you’re just one degree to the side of everyone else.” It need not be a radical difference at all. Being at the helm of a disruptive business comes with challenges, yes but the need to be “perpetually dissatisfied with your business,” is essential for consistent and continuous growth. Talking of disruptive automation brands in today’s marketplace calls for certain criteria that needs to be catered to:

Advanced RPA capabilities

Most of the RPA players started with UI based automation. But many have moved forward and can automate other technologies, beyond UI. But only a handful have web-based automation platform. And amongst them, very few players have the right architecture and technology to offer cloud-based automation and cater to on-demand ‘elastic scaling’ kind of capabilities.

Built-in Data Interface & HIL (human-in-the-Loop) capabilities

Good news is everyone in the industry has realised the importance of HIL for a successful automation. HIL is required for managing exceptions, reconfirming extraction of data and approvals. But most of the players do a custom-built HIL. And few exceptional players have integrated Machine learning into their HIL.

AI Based Cognitive Decision-making capabilities

Extremely few players have this capability. Very few have AI feature and even if they have, they have restricted to Document processing only. The ability to train your BOT on the go. This is a key feature to make your BOT perform tasks and processes that needs intelligence and human-like decision making capabilities, without putting humongous effort to train them with past data.

Web-based RPA

With the emergence of RPA as one of the key drivers of efficiency, the cloud and RPA have become closely linked. Being able to send, analyse, and interpret data on the go is one of the key drivers of IoT, and the cloud helps facilitate this. By using a web-based RPA, customers can see quicker results, allows for customizable solutions, where customers can choose specific processes to focus on so that bottlenecks can be addressed easily. By maintaining a library of ready-made RPA components, web-based systems can combine several automated processes to efficiently automate new processes. This provides a higher degree of personalization without installing an unwieldy system-based RPA solution.

RPA as a Service

Jiffy recently launched its RPA-on-the-cloud as a service. With RPaaS architecture at the center, best in class security, firewall, on demand scalability and data privacy, - the JIFFY Desktop machine could be present in any network (need not be on the same network where JIFFY Server is running) with access to the server machine. What this means is no heavy infrastructure setup in premise, or orchestrator in premise and the bots continue performing on the local desktops in the customer network but managed by the central RAAS server hosted on the cloud.

Built-in Security Vault

Several challenges such as sharing secure credentials, password reset, securing data in logs, hardcoding credentials, storing other secure information like SSN, credit cards etc exist. Jiffy’s inbuilt security vault with best in class security features is a classic combination of technology and business processes. JiffyVault enables an audit trail for each bot, and the capability to define which bot can use which key for which task. Business users have complete control over this with varying degrees of access.

Document Processing Capabilities

An Automation tool with Document Processing is a MUST-HAVE feature. So, most of the players are adopting this capability but we need to check if the document processing ability is rule-based or tightly integrated with AI capabilities. Many of them also integrate with expensive advanced OCRs to cover up their missing ML capabilities. So it adds up to the cost. Hence choosing a platform which does document processing using ML and NLP capabilities is essential.
