Deborah Kops

Managing Principal Sourcing Change

Deborah Kops is Principal of Sourcing Change. She currently works with leading enterprises to develop new target operating models for a range of business functions by rethinking work content, structure, scope, solutions, organizations and roles in the face of four key disrupters: rapid digitization, generational shifts, changing business dynamics and the imperative for performance.

Her focus is on developing repeatable tools including predictive models and playbooks, deconstructing actual work on a range of dimensions: what it is, why it needs to be done, who should do it, and where it should be delivered. Her career includes managing directorships at FleetBoston Financial’s (now Bank of America) Technology and Operations Group, reporting to the Vice Chairman, and at Deutsche Bank; consulting partnerships at Arthur Andersen and PricewaterhouseCoopers; and chief marketing officer of an Indian-legacy outsourcing company. She also served as research director for Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), where she led their finance process transformation initiative, looking at how the finance function is changing in light of both automation and generational shifts. Currently she sits on the advisory boards of Sequoia-funded samya.ai, paymentworks.com and datalytyx.com, and managed strategy and acquisitions for Warburg Pincus-funded Mercator.com. Deborah is also the founder of Liberty Source PBC, the first U.S. onshore business process services company that combines automation and the talents of military spouses to compete with offshore business process delivery. Deborah frequently presents at major industry forums, and leads The Conference Board’s Global Business Services Council. She is a member of SSON’s Global advisory board and was the presenter of its Hardtalk series. She can be reached at deborah.kops@sourcingchange.com.
