SSOW Europe Autumn 2022 welcomes Gold Medallist's Eilish and Liz Mccolgan as this year’s inspirational speakers
SSOW Europe Autumn are thrilled to announce that Athletics superstars Eilish and Liz McColgan will be this year’s inspirational speakers.
As sporting families go, the McColgans are as impressive as they come. Eilish, who was already a two-time European Championship medallist and seven-time national champion before this year’s Commonwealth Games, left Birmingham with a 10,000m Gold (which she won in record time) and a Silver medal in the 5,000m. From there she went straight to the European Championships in Munich, winning Silver in the 10,000m and Bronze in the 5,000m. For Eilish to join our conference, so soon after her inspirational Summer season, is a real privilege and speaks to so many of the core principles that underpin our Shared Services and GBS platform.
Perhaps the most magical moment of that 10,000m performance in Birmingham was watching Eilish run from the finish line to the stands, where she celebrated with her Mother, Liz. Liz herself won 10,000m Gold at the 1991 World Championships and was also a Silver medallist at the 1988 Olympic Games. Now coaching and based in Qatar, Liz will join her daughter on-stage at SSOW on Day Three of the conference – Wednesday, 19th October - for a fireside chat that will focus on two outstanding careers, with a wide-ranging discussion covering topics including performance under pressure, teamwork and resilience.
We’ll be sharing more details on the session in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, we look forward to welcoming Eilish and Liz to this year’s SSOW Europe Autumn.

The 16th annual SSOW Europe Autumn Summit will take place at The Hurlingham Club in London, UK this October (17-19).
