Beth Loudon

Head of Procurement Development and Sourcing NHS Shared Business Services

Passionate about NHS efficiency through procurement, Beth leads the procurement and strategic sourcing services for NHS Shared Business Services. Previously Beth was the Business Development Director for NHS SBS.

 

Before this, Beth led the NHS procurement programme for the Department of Health and Social Care including the implementation of ‘NHS Procurement: Raising our Game’ and the QIPP (Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention) requirement to gain efficiencies through procurement across the healthcare system. Beth also led on the development and publication of the NHS Standards of Procurement. Previously, Beth managed the transition of the Pharmacy Unit of the NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency (NHS PASA) into the NHS Commercial Medicines Unit and was responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Unit and managing its response to the changing needs of the Department of Health and the NHS.


Beth is a BA (Hons) Business Studies and FCIPS qualified procurement professional with over 25 years' public sector experience. The majority of her work has been in building collaborative procurement partnerships within the NHS to gain efficiencies and improvements in healthcare with NHS PASA. She was also the Assistant Director of the North West Centre of Excellence, which achieved savings for local authorities through collaboration. Beth represents the North Region of England on CIPS Congress.
