Lai Gaik is currently the Zalora Global Business Services Director for diverse process streams span Record to Report, Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Financial Controllership, Internal Control and Business Process Services.

Her key area of focus:

  • Lead, develop and execute talent framework to empower and accelerate team’s full potential including designing the new operating model for GBS organization.
  • Leading the assessment of new opportunities to drive simplification, automation by finding best in class tools to scale or adapt.
  • Lead and support the strategic alignment ensuring GBS and the business stakeholders are focused on solutioning the strategic challenges and creating a step change in longer term business value.
  • Engage and challenge current processes to incorporate critical thinking and futuristic process redesign to develop innovative solutions for complex business scenarios.

With over 20 years of experience within the shared services industry and commercial finance roles in global multi-national companies, her experience spans the FMCG, IT, electronics, semiconductor, and eCommerce industries. My area of expertise spans Record to Report (RTR), Procure to Pay (P2P), Supply Chain/Forecast to Stock (FTS), and Order to Cash (OTC) process streams, Tax and Statutory Accounting, Treasury, Consolidated and Management Reporting.

She manages a team from diverse functional expertise and cultural backgrounds while leveraging a model of accountability and teamwork to deliver high value services to stakeholders across the enterprise. She is part of the pioneer leadership team in setting up the Asia Pacific Shared Service Center for Kimberly-Clark, and she has championed various talent and organizational development programs that has led to the successful growth of the center.

Lai Gaik holds a bachelor’s degree in accountancy with honours and she is also Chartered Accountant, a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
