Principal Product Manager, E-Invoicing & Live Reporting (ELR) | General Manager Avalara

Alexander Sutter is a Principal Product Manager for E-Invoicing & Live Reporting (ELR) and General Manager for Avalara Germany, Romania, and Turkey. He holds a degree in Business Informatics (Diplom-Wirtschaftsinformatiker (BA)) and brings more than 25 years of experience in IT services, with a strong focus on data center operations, SAP, EDI, and e-invoicing solutions.

Throughout his career, Alexander has successfully led and supported numerous international EDI and e-invoicing projects, particularly in the automotive and retail industries. His expertise spans consulting, project management, and the implementation of complex digital compliance and business integration solutions across global organizations.

Since joining Avalara in 2019, he has held various leadership and product management roles, helping organizations navigate the evolving landscape of e-invoicing, continuous transaction controls (CTC), and international tax compliance requirements.

In addition to his industry responsibilities, Alexander serves as a lecturer and member of the examination board at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) in Stuttgart. There, he teaches in the field of Business Informatics with a focus on Application Management, contributing to the education and development of future IT and business professionals.
