Dr Joseph Soalheira

Phd on "Shared Services and the Competitive Advantage of the Firm" Queensland University of Technology

Joseph has been recognized worldwide as a thought leader in Shared Services, and has completed a PhD in Shared Services at QUT University, in September 2019, focusing on demonstrating how a SSO model can add competitive advantage to a firm. Joseph’s Thesis was nominated for the University Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award, an honour awarded to less than 5% of all doctoral completions. His thesis demonstrated outstanding contribution to knowledge and excellence in doctoral research.

Joseph is a FCPA (Fellow Certified Public Accountant), made a Life Member of CPA Australia since 2010, for his contributions to business and Shared Services Management. He has a double degree in Business & Economics, and a Master’s Degree in Finance, from Melbourne University.

In 2005, he received the SSON Award for Outstanding Leadership in Shared Services. He is a frequent speaker, workshop facilitator and training consultant for executives and management, in Australia and overseas, and has been a Shared Services practitioner for over 15 years in the Telecommunications sector (Telstra), Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG/Fonterra), Chemicals industry (Orica) and the Government sector (BCC).

Joseph was a Senior Australian Diplomat in Brazil (DFAT), and has worked in several commercial projects in telecommunications and higher education in China, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam & other Asian countries (Telstra, RMIT and Griffith University).

He has been an Advisory Board Member to SSON since 2005, a member of the SSON Fellowship Academy, and was also a Vice-President, Australasian Shared Services Association (ASSA).
