Gunter Van Craen

Gunter Van Craen is an accomplished global technology executive with over 25 years of leadership experience across industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, consumer goods, and banking. Currently serving as the Chief Information and Digital Officer at Bekaert N.V., he leads the company’s digital transformation program. Under his direction, the digital function has evolved from a traditional support role to a strategic business enabler, and delivering transformative value in operations, innovation, and customer engagement. As of 2025, Gunter has taken on additional responsibilities in leading and transforming the Global Business Services organization for Bekaert. Prior to his role at Bekaert, Gunter held several senior leadership positions at Johnson & Johnson, including SVP of Technology Services for EMEA, AsiaPac, and LatAM, VP for Global R&D IT, and Regional Treasurer for AsiaPac. His initiatives have spanned everything from hybrid cloud infrastructure to data-driven clinical trial innovation, global M&A technology integration and global financial/treasury service centers.
