Carlos Castro is the Central Cluster Financial Director in Smurfit Westrock. Prior to his current role, he has held different positions within the finance area. He is and Industrial Engineer and holds a master’s degree in Industrial Administration in Purdue University. Carlos and his team have been working during the past 2 years to develop a new share service that gives support to 8 countries and more than 30 operational facilities. At Smurfit Westrock Central Cluster, the concept of Shared Services has been redefined, evolving from a transactional focus to a strategic value-added approach. By adopting Value Selling strategies typically used in commercial settings, the organization has empowered its teams to deliver significant business value beyond routine operational tasks.
