Beau Everett oversees leasing, acquisition, and management for NYU Langone Health’s real estate portfolio. He manages all aspects of an 8.7M square foot portfolio of space beyond the medical center’s main campus for clinical, research, education, and office uses as well as over 1,200 residential units and approximately 7,000 parking spaces with a total annual operating budget of nearly $500M. He provides in-house expertise in areas affecting portfolio planning, asset management, property valuation, easements, air rights, condemnation, title, and other real estate matters. Beau plays a leading role in developing and implementing the institution’s strategic growth plan, which includes affiliations with the Health System’s regional hospitals, along with the expansion of NYU Langone’s real estate portfolio across all mission areas throughout New York City and the metropolitan area. In recent years, Beau has been instrumental in numerous important and creative transactions. He has led the acquisition of nearly 1M square feet of Manhattan office space for various clinical uses, including the creation of a commercial leasehold condominium for 195K square feet at the base of an iconic midtown office tower, where NYU Langone is currently investing $150M in the conversion. In Garden City, Beau led the acquisition of a former department store, and NYU Langone is investing $260M to create an ambulatory hub. Beau also steered the $150M disposition of NYU Langone’s affordable housing portfolio in southwest Brooklyn. Beau is also a proponent of progressive workplace strategies that create collaborative, engaging, and efficient working environments. He also led the transformation of an academic research laboratory into a dynamic, co-working incubator for up to 160 entrepreneurs from as many as 35 biotech start-ups. Beau has spent over 20 years in corporate real estate for mission-driven organizations. Prior to joining NYU Langone, Beau was a deputy director in the real estate department of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Previously, he was vice president of a real estate consulting firm specializing in market feasibility and strategic analyses for developers and municipalities. Beau currently serves on the Editorial Board of the Corporate Real Estate Journal and on the Board of Directors of the Third Street Music School Settlement. He is also treasurer of his residential co-op board. Beau earned a BA in history from Williams College in 1987 and an MBA in 1994 from the Yale School of Management, where he received academic commendations in macro-economics and politics. Beau was recognized multiple times as an NCAA Division III Swimming All-American in backstroke and the individual medley and was also the NESCAC League Champion in 100 backstroke. Beau lives on Manhattan’s Upper West Side with his family. His wife is a professor of clinical anesthesia and obstetric anesthesia fellowship director at Columbia University Medical Center. His oldest son is a graduate of Williams College and a PhD candidate in mathematics at CUNY, while his younger son attends the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. His daughter attends the Professional Children’s School, dances in the pre-professional program at the School of American Ballet, and has performed with the New York City Ballet.
