Dr. Khalilah “KO” Olokunola was born & raised in Brooklyn NY. The American dream didn't just include a picket fence, but instead her dream was an opportunity to impact the lives of others. She is the former Chief People Officer for TRU Colors, a company that hires second chance hires, active and rival gang members with a closely knit social mission to unite communities & decrease violence. In this position, she oversaw developing a non traditional people strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization. KO founded Re-Engineering HR . A solutions and strategy organization with a focus on Talent Optimization, DEI & B, Learning and Development, Culture Systems &Workforce development including Fair Chance Hiring . We provide a high level people strategy that aligns with your organizational goals from hire to retire through workshops, retreats and people projects. In addition to graduate school she has completed open coursework at M.I.T uLab & Harvard University on Leading from the Emerging Future & Deliberations of Social Change . She holds additional certifications in Talent Optimization Strategy| I/O Psychology| Workforce development & Peer counseling . Today KO is an advocate & sought after expert for workplace diversity, culture strategy, inclusion, and second-chance hiring. She is an accomplished author, speaker and impact architect. She has worked with, trained & provided targeted talks and workshops for organizations throughout the United States like Dave’s Killer Bread Foundation, Drizly, Plenty & Patagonia to spark ideas, create programs, processes and policies for fair chance hire programming, DEI & B practices, sustainability and unpacking racial justice and equity in business . She has been named a top 22 Conscious Business leader & top 30 Fearless Women Leading Sustainability and Regeneration.
