Jose Varela

In 2026, Jose Varela retired from 3M after dedicating 36 years to the company. His most recent position was Senior Vice President of Global Service Centers. During his tenure at 3M, Jose held several prominent roles, including Chief Procurement Officer, President of 3M Brazil, Mexico, and Chile, President of the Personal Safety Division and Fall Protection Business, Finance Vice President for Asia Pacific and Latin America, and Senior Vice President for Emerging Markets. Prior to his career at 3M, Jose worked at KPMG. Jose Varela, currently serves as a Member of the Board of Banco Azul, a local bank based in El Salvador. Additionally, he is an advisor to the Innovation Committee of the Board of Directors at SigmaQ, a multinational corporation operating in Central America, Mexico, and the United States. Jose has served in commercial and nonprofit boards, such as 3M India, Ordway Center MN, AMCHAM, Junior Achievement and United Way, in many countries, as he has lived and worked in nine countries in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Jose Varela is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science and International Business at Cumbria University in the United Kingdom.
