Nordics Time has Come: Why Shared Services is Taking Off

Add bookmark

While there has been a consistent trend towards centralizing support services in a "smarter" format across the globe, certain regions have maintained their own, separate trajectory. The Nordic region, although having long embraced the concept of centralised services, has remained somewhat behind the curve of shared services’ evolution, perhaps as a result of its reliance on languages that are not commonly found elsewhere as well as its consensus-driven management structure. In addition, the five Nordic countries, like some of their southern neighbours across Europe, have traditionally been more insular, and have developed certain self-reliance when it comes to operational support.

The current trend in technology automation plus shifts towards increasingly global services mean that Nordic companies are faced with a tremendous opportunity, however.
