Drew Mahkovec

Director Of Finance And Accounting IQVIA

I am originally from Clearfield PA, currently residing in Phoenix AZ. My alma mater is Alma Mater: Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In life I have a singluar goal and that is to be a positive influence on those I am around whether it be at home, in the community and at work. My personal and work philosophy centers around constantly learning and being curious to stay relevant and open to change (We are not what we know but what we are willing to learn). Being inquisitive is often a key to success whether it be work/business or your personal life. From a management perspective I am a firm believer in the mantra of “Lead, follow, or get out of the way”. As a leader this is critical when managing individuals or teams. The inability to determine when one should follow or get out of the way is often overlooked and hinders success. It can stifle innovation and development when not done effectively. Additionally, coaching /mentoring individuals and teams is something I enjoy greatly. I am a licensed CPA with an MBA in Finance. I have significant experience and a strong track record developing people and delivering results. I have extensive experience managing/developing operational accounting functions, controllership and budgeting/forecasting processes. This includes a deep understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley, the COSO framework, accounts receivable, intercompany accounting, cash settlement processes, foreign exchange, financial reporting (management, regulatory and statutory), M&A Integration/Separation support, cost modeling and transfer pricing processes. I also have an extremely strong background in information technology (infrastructure and application development) and project management having managed people and portfolios of projects with a focus on developing sound accounting, reporting and internal controls on a global level. To date one of the biggest achievements in my career was being asked to lead various aspects of the spinoff of the Business travel division from American Express. The spin off carved out 16k employees into a standalone entity overnight (American Express Global Business Travel). The new company was 150 years old with all the challenges of a startup. Business and Finance teams, processes and systems were built from the ground up. It was as challenging time with extensive learning. AEGBT is now a publicly traded company. My hobbies include playing Rugby and outdoor activities (Hiking, Camping, traveling)
