Gonzalo has more than 20 years of experience in Finance in different industries such as banking, Food industry, Broadcasting and Pharmaceutical, has worked in Mexico, Costa Rica, UK and Malaysia, giving him strong cultural experience across three continents - America, Europe and Asia. Gonzalo joined AstraZeneca ten years ago and is a member of the GFS LT and Finance Senior Management Team (FSMT).

During the last two years he has been based in Malaysia as Head of GBS/GFS Asia and also as Interim Global Financial Services (GFS) COO, demonstrating success leading a large complex team and building cross-functional networks. He has strong numerical and analytical skills and has enjoyed supporting our CFOs and Finance stakeholders in China, Japan, Australia and Asia Area to deliver projects across APAC. He joined AstraZeneca 10 years ago, prior to this he made a significant contribution to the successful set up and evolution of GFS Americas, creating from scratch the area and leading multiple successful transitions and then as Finance Associated Director FP&A North America. He has also held several key roles in LatAm and Mexico including Finance Business Partner, Commercial Excellence and Business Development and Pricing Officer.   

Gonzalo has 2 degrees as an Accountant and Business Administration from ITAM and postgraduates’ studies as Corporate Finance Advisor.
