Latin America has become one of the largest emerging markets for shared services operations. The market is moving from transactional, human-based tasks to more knowledge-driven activity that is enabled by automation and data. Yet, and despite the anxiety unleashed by “automation”, this has not resulted to obvious job losses. Instead, Latin American shared services organizations (SSOs) are developing new competencies and growing without adding headcount, frequently by leveraging new Centers of Excellence and expanding into new services and geographies.
