Accounts payable (AP) has spent years automating the same broken processes. The result: faster invoice processing, but the same exceptions, the same supplier friction, and the same manual intervention. AI-native AP takes a different approach – built from the ground up to prevent exceptions before they occur, improve supplier relationships, and give finance leaders intelligence they can act on.
In this session, Direct Commerce's Head of GTM Jesse Henry and VP of Product Daniel Shore walk through:
- What AI-native AP actually means in practice
- How it differs from traditional AP automation, and
- What finance and shared services leaders should be asking their vendors and internal teams right now.
The session draws on real-world implementation experience across large enterprise AP environments and covers the structural changes that separate companies getting measurable results from those still chasing incremental gains.

Jesse Henry, a seasoned sales executive with decades of experience in B2B automation and working capital solutions, joins Direct Commerce as Head of Sales and Go-To-Market Strategy. Henry has led transformational initiatives across procure-to-pay (P2P) and order-to-cash (OTC) functions. He has specifically focused on AP automation and working capital strategies, helping many of the world's largest enterprises better manage their cash and improving supplier access to capital. He's held executive roles at Taulia, SAP, C2FO, Medius, and most recently, TreviPay. Across startups and global enterprises, Henry has consistently demonstrated success bringing disruptive working capital and B2B automation technologies to market.
Daniel Shore joins Direct Commerce as Vice President of Product, bringing a career built from the inside out. Shore spent years on the practitioner side of AP, watching suppliers absorb the hidden costs of so-called automation – chasing payments, re-keying invoices, and navigating portals that were never built to solve the real problems. That experience shaped everything that followed.
Shore has held product and solution leadership roles across leading AP automation companies, including nearly seven years at Medius, where he rose to Senior Global Director of Digital Solutions and Value Consulting. He also brings hands-on enterprise experience as an AP and treasury operations leader at companies including Restoration Hardware and McKesson. Shore is also the founder of the AP Institute, a practitioner-first content hub giving AP professionals the honest, real-world resources the industry has long lacked – and a mission he continues to champion at Direct Commerce.
