This webinar will take place on:

10:00 AM - 10:45 AM PST

AI is moving beyond helping AP teams process work faster. Increasingly, intelligent systems can execute the work themselves, from invoice intake and coding to matching, exception management and supplier communication. For Shared Services leaders, this creates a new challenge: not simply deciding what to automate, but determining how the work itself should be redesigned as AI takes on a greater share of execution.

In this session, we'll explore the emerging operating model for AI-enabled AP and the changing division of labor between people and intelligent systems. Drawing on SSON's 2026 State of AP research and Vic.ai research across nearly 800 AP professionals, we'll examine which activities are best suited for autonomous execution, where human judgment remains essential, and how AP leaders can rethink roles, controls and workflows around a human + AI workforce.

Key takeaways include:

  • Learn how to determine which AP activities should be automated, autonomous, human-led, or managed collaboratively by people and AI.
  • Understand how AP roles and skills are evolving as transactional work shifts toward AI and human capacity moves toward oversight, exception management, process improvement and strategic analysis.
  • Explore how to build the controls, escalation paths and accountability needed to increase AI autonomy without sacrificing governance or human judgment.
