Sher Downing, Ph.D., is the CEO of Downing EdTech Consulting, offering guidance in digital transformation for business advancement and professional performance. As an EdTech Strategist, she focuses on strategic planning operations management and the relationship between industry products, OPE services, and innovation. In 2018 she founded Downing EdTech Consulting, offering guidance in digital transformation for business advancement and professional performance.
Downing draws from her thirty-six-year career with public, private, and for-profit higher education institutions and corporate training programs in online learning and edtech. Her focus is on operational excellence, helping organizations and startups to launch, grow, and develop with an impact for the betterment and accessibility of users worldwide. She is known as “a distinguished value-giver...very few professionals of her caliber are so willing to share their insight, knowledge, and guidance.” Her coaching expertise has also assisted online learning and tech professionals in expanding career opportunities and launching startups.
She hosts the podcast EdTech Speaks, Founder of the community Forward Thinking, was named to The Top 50 Women Leaders in Arizona 2022 and was nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year Women in IT USA Awards in 2021. She was a co-author in the best-selling international The Power of Why series and a contributor and co-contributor to Forbes, HBR Ascend, and Medium. She has served as a university law school board member, international speaker, presenter, and mentor to graduate students and EdTech professionals. She holds an MS and Ph.D. in instructional design for online technology and a master’s in legal studies focused on intellectual property in digital media. She also has coaching, teaching and learning certifications, and digital strategy.
