American Express knows all about payments – so what can it teach you about payROLL?

Jana Caves, Head of American Express’s EMEA region’s Payroll process, tells us how she manages the challenges associated with providing payments to 23 countries

Standardization is a key ingredient to getting end-to-end efficiencies built into the payroll process. But given local legislation and regional worker agreements, at least 20% of the process will always need to have a local, tailored flavour – as opposed to implementing globalised processes across the board. To support standardization across this localized element, American Express is leveraging strong vendor partnerships across multiple countries.
