Prioritising Talent Development within Global Business Services

The Certified Global Business Services Professionals (CGBSP) Program and the Shared Services & Outsourcing Network (SSON) conducted a survey of 218 global GBS/Shared Services professionals between March and April 2017.

The particular focus was on talent management priorities for the sector. This report highlights the key findings of the survey.

The Shared Services and Global Business Service (GBS) industry has witnessed a professionalisation of skills to support current and emerging business needs. While technology and process improvements drive much of the resultant success, people remain the most valuable asset, and the key to Shared Services and GBS transformation.

The results from this survey highlight how training programmes keep employees proficient in operational roles, however at the same time, they point to a lack of support for long-term career investment.
