Turning unstructured data into structured data

Why OCR is not enough: the "structuring data" dilemma

OCR is frequently of limited effectiveness because many documents flowing into operations take an inconsistent format, and OCR works best when documents are standardized.

Enter Computer Vision. Its primary role is to identify those ‘areas’ or ‘regions’ of interest in a given document and pass the information to an OCR engine where the information is converted into a structured format.

This report introduces Computer Vision, and explains how
you can leverage its capabilities.
