Healthcare Organizations Have Embraced the Cloud...Now What? Despite the initial hesitation, new data suggests that healthcare organizations have moved beyond these once widely-held concerns. One telling finding, via Imprivata’s "2014 Desktop Virtualization Trends in Healthcare" report, is that 40% of healthcare organizations surveyed report now storing protected health information in the cloud. January 28th, 2015 Accenture Announces Extension to Enbridge Gas Distribution’s Customer Care Business Process Outsourcing Agreement The customer care BPO contract extension includes enhanced strategic and operational services. Enbridge and Accenture will collaborate to jointly identify and develop innovations to drive improvements in customer service. Penang services sector to outpace manufacturing in 2015 Penang’s fast-growing services sector looks set to overtake manufacturing as the state’s key economic driver this year, thanks to an increasing interest in the state’s tourism products and other support services. Indiana BMV outsourcing license plate production, car registrations with $72 million contract WISH-TV reported Monday that the BMV has entered into a $72 million contract with Intellectual Technology Inc. The company and will receive yearly payments from the Indiana BMV until the end of 2019. The contract is expected to save the BMV nearly $14.4 million over five years. Philippine corporate ICT spending seen rising 10.1% -- IDC Citing its Annual Continuum Survey, IDC said that bulk of Philippine companies are looking to increase ICT budget and spending in 2015. AIB to outsource 170 IT roles to three service providers The bank, which is 99.8 per cent owned by the State, wants to outsource these roles to three companies - Eircom, Integrity and Wipro. It is understood that all of these positions will be located in Dublin and that no redundancies are planned. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. TIBCO and Lavastorm Analytics announce predictive analytics environment This new functionality enables data scientists using Lavastorm to more quickly and accurately build, validate and share predictive analytic data models with business users, allowing them to deliver proactive business insights. Advanced Business Solutions launches new financial management tool Advanced has developed its solution in partnership with Newcastle City Council. The Council is implementing Advanced Workspace into its existing Advanced solutions, e5 financial management and collaborative planning budgeting and forecasting, in addition to SAP HR & Payroll. January 20th, 2015 Mphasis, Aureus Analytics to offer Big data solutions to banks and insurance cos Mphasis has partnered with Aureus Analytics to provide advanced predictive analytics and big data solutions for insurance and banking sector. Under the partnership, Aureus' big data and analytics capabilities will complement Mphasis' customer base in insurance and banking space. Pemex looks to save US$1.5bn in procurement and supply The anticipated savings are due to better contract negotiations achieved by the corporative supply and procurement department, which was created as part of the country's energy reform, Pemex said in a release. Xerox Offloads IT Outsourcing Business in $1.05 Billion Deal The boards of both companies have approved the deal, which is expected to close sometime in the first six months of 2015 pending regulatory approval and consultation with employee representative groups. January 5th, 2015 Xerox selling its IT outsourcing unit to France’s Atos The move is part of a larger transformation led by CEO Ursula Burns. Xerox, which is best known for its old school printers, is repositioning itself to become a business-to-business expert, focusing on human resources, financial services and data services for multinational firms. IT services firms to remain on strong growth path this year in India NEW DELHI: Improving economic scenario in the US, enhanced IT spending by banks and large deals are expected to help Indian IT services firms post strong growth, similar to the pace seen last year, analysts said. IBM announces launch of Japanese cloud data center with SoftLayer IBM has announced the opening of its first cloud data center with SoftLayer in Japan.
