D6 2011 – Ulrich Bäumer – Osbourne Clarke
In the past, outsourcing was fairly straightforward: there was the customer and there was the provider. What we are seeing now is that the separation between the two is no longer so defined. Customers are increasingly having to take on more of the risk and accept that downward pressure by them on prices is of necessity reflected in quality. At the same time, providers are taking on more of the business risk, as well as the people risk. What Båumer won’t tolerate, however, is the notion that German "regulation" is in any way hindering outsourcing. Offshore providers simply have to familiarize themselves with these local regulations. Data protection rules are more stringent, yes, but they just need to be built into offerings.?
