Robots & People – How Does this Work?

I have been watching the RPA trend evolve from a couple of attention-grabbing headlines ("Humans Need Not Apply") just a few years ago, to today's more measured interpretation of automation.

While what we are seeing to date tends to focus on repetitive transactional work (and there is plenty – and I mean PLENTY – of opportunity to benefit from this) what many are missing is robotics' application to what we might call more sophisticated, value-adding services. These will be based on leveraging to data analytics, so yes, it's a step-by-step process.

To understand and learn, you need to listen to the experts, and there are three lined up for a webinar next month that have a lot to say on the subject.

Cognizant's Robert Brown heads the firm's extraordinary think-tank on Future of Work (check their site for lots of relevant articles). He'll explain how robotics is impacting the kind of knowledge work that drives real dollar returns. He'll be joined by Vinesh Goyal who was the project leader for what is to date the largest deployment of RPA technology: San Diego County's Health & Human Services program to drive efficiencies. And the third in this group is Mihir Shukla, Automation Anywhere's CEO who has been delivering robotics to all kinds of industries for years, and is a rock-solid practitioner and advocate to the services delivery industry that is just waking up to this opportunity.
