We’re delighted to introduce … Name: Emanuel Gatt Title: Managing Director Company: Shared Service Architecture Ltd (SSA) Read more about the benefits of taking the SSO PRO course Q: What is your key role? EG: As MD, my key responsibilities include strategic planning, business development and organisational capacity building. I lead on developing long-terms partnering relationships with key stakeholder groups such as market intermediaries, associates, key customer accounts and suppliers. What is it that attracts you to the online learning forum? How does this compare to other training sessions you've taken part in? SSA is a research and teaching led company. So I have lots of experience teaching and being taught across a range of learning methods including distance learning, coaching, class based programmes and on the job training. I’ve not directly experienced on-line teaching , hence my interest. Q: What is your Skill Set? EG: I have skills in building powerful and sustainable partnerships between public sector organisations and have developed various tools and techniques designed to help strengthen collaborative advantage at individual, corporate or partnership levels. Q: In which of the 10 competency areas do you feel you have experience/expertise to share? EG: Change management, Customer and stakeholder services, Quality management, Risk management, Talent management. Q: In which of the 10 areas do you have most to learn? EG: I’m interested in learning more about Contracting and negotiation, Financial acumen, Governance and compliance. Q: Who do you look up to in business and why? EG: I admire leaders who are authentic, have a vision, and are pragmatic yet determined to see it through. Having worked with so many entrepreneurs during my career in business support, I admire all have-a-go heros who go out to create wealth from practically nothing. Q: What’s an unusual hobby or interest of yours? EG: I’m a lapsed 2nd Dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do, a music collector and now get my kicks out mountain biking. Q: What has been your greatest achievement? EG: Having spent so many years coaching and encouraging others to start and grow their own businesses, I feel most proud of our achievements in creating and growing SSA. Q: What is your greatest regret? EG: Not learning Maltese Q: Which management books/magazines/newspapers do you read? EG: I read MJ, LGC, Director and the Sunday Times. I tend to dip into management books as needed and have collected a fair few over the years. Q: Who are your favourite writers? EG: William Manchester, Bob Woodward, Ed Burns & David Simons. Q: Where do you live and how far do you commute to work? What keeps you here? EG: I live in the East Midlands near Nottingham and I work from home. Want to develop your full potential? Go SSOPro.
