Interview with Yazdi Bagli, Associate Director – Financial Services, Procter & Gamble (Manila)SSON:Â Yazdi, please explain your role to us. How did it evolve? YB: I look after Payments, Banking and Cash Management Operations for Asia and CEEMEA Legal Entities of P&G.Â I also look after Process Improvement for our Accounting operations globally.Â I have been with P&G for 15 years, working in IT and Shared Service Operations.SSON: Where do you see opportunities for your role, looking forward? In particular: what ideas do you have for leveraging shared services? YB: Even though P&G moved into shared services more than 10 years ago and we have expanded scope since then, there are a lot of services that we can add. And even for our current services, there is a lot more value we can add.SSON: What’s been your greatest success over the past year? Where have shared services had the greatest impact on P&G’s operations? YB: My greatest success over the past year has been in getting more focus on process improvement in our accounting operations. The result of that effort has created a lot of value for P&G. Shared services have provided scale and agility to P&G. We integrated Gillette successfully in a very short time frame. That would not have been possible without our shared services.SSON: What are your predictions on 'global sourcing' for 2011? YB: Greater value based contracts, ie, where BPOs get a size of prize for value created.SSON: Who is your favorite writer? Why? YB: PG Wodehouse – British humor at its best!SSON: Who would you most like to have dinner with (living or dead)? YB: Monica Belluci – for obvious reasons!SSON: Where do you live and what keeps you there? YB: I live in Manila, Philippines – everyone in my family loves the Philippines.About Yazdi Bagli Â Yazdi Bagli is an Associate Director at Procter & Gamble’s Global Shared Service Center in Manila, Philippines. Yazdi started with Procter & Gamble in 1995 and has since then worked in Information Technology, Strategic Outsourcing, Project Management and Shared Services Management in various regional and global roles in many international locations. At present he is looking after payment, banking and treasury operations for P&G’s legal entities in Asia, Central Europe and Middle East Africa. He also leads the process improvement competency for P&G global shared services. Prior to this, he looked after global IT systems for financial shared services located out of Cincinnati, USA and was instrumental in building global systems that brought breakthrough efficiencies for P&G’s shared services operations.Â Yazdi Bagli will be discussing Finance Transformation at theÂ 13th Annual Asian Shared Services & Outsourcing Week, 20-23 September 2010, in Singapore.
