Q: What has your favorite job been to date and why? A: My current Job is my favorite job… why else would I have taken it on! Q: Who do you look up to in business and why? A: Jack Welch for his courage Q: What has been your greatest achievement? A: Building great teams and seeing them succeed as teams and individuals Q: What is your greatest regret? A: I do not believe in regrets Q: If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently? A: I would have fought a few lesser battles… picked and chosen more selectively Q: Which developments have had the biggest impact on your markets? A: The explosion of Data Q: What looks like the biggest potential for you right now? A: Leveraging the huge data repositories that companies have and giving them useful insights derived from these to help them be more competitive in the marketplace Q: What are your concerns regarding emerging competition (geographic, technical, inhouse)? A: I am very positive on the competition existing. As low cost geographies lose some of the low cost advantage they will have to push themselves to add more value to their clients. As technology eliminates the need for basic, simple work individuals will be forced to upskill themselves. Inhouse vs Outsourced does not matter… the work needs to get done…by whoever is best equipped to do the job. Q: What is your favorite occupation? A: Leading teams and driving change Q: In 10 years’ time - how do you see your current operation being run? A: It should not be doing even a single thing it does today. All this should have been automated and we should be engineering new techniques and discoveries. Q: What’s the best thing about using an external sourcing consultant? A: They are God-sent for 1st time outsourcers. They help drive the internal and the external buying process. Q: What’s the worst thing about using an external sourcing consultant? A: The cost savings for the 1st year could be eroded by the fee one pays external consultants Q: Which management books do you read? A: Of late, practically none… I feel that books about life teach you more about how to run the organization…especially a people centric organization. The last path-breaking book I read was "Crucial Conversations." Q: Who are your favorite writers? A: Douglas Adams, Robert Fulghum, Christian Jacq Q: What car do you drive and what should you be driving? A: I prefer to be driven Q: What's your favorite 10-minute dish that you cook yourself?
