February 27, 2014 iGate wins outsourcing contract from Sweden’s LÃ¥nsfÃ·rsÃ¥kringar Alliance Nasdaq-listed software services firm iGate Corp. on Wednesday said it has won a five-year outsourcing contract worth $35 million from Swedish financial services firm LÃ¥nsfÃ·rsÃ¥kringar Alliance to manage all its back-office financial and information technology systems. February 26, 2014 HandsOn3 acquires BancTec HandsOn3, a global buyout manager based in Santa Monica, CA, announced today that one of its affiliated funds has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire BancTec, Inc., a leading BPO company, headquartered in Dallas, TX. Wipro hits 14-yr high, bags IT & BPO contract from UK firm Shares of Wipro jumped 3 percent, touching 14-year high at Rs 595 per share intraday on Tuesday as it bagged a 10-year IT and BPO contract from UK's Carillion. Carillion operates across multiple industry sectors in the UK, Middle East and Canada and provides solutions in finance, design, construction and support services. Economy seen growing by 7.5-8% this year The Philippine economy is seen to expand by 7.5 to 8 percent this year, driven largely by the expected increase in the government’s infrastructure spending and continued robust consumption, according to the Metrobank-led First Metro Investment Corp. February 25, 2014 HGS opens centres in Philippines BPO services provider Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS), a Hinduja Group company, has opened two new centres in the Philippines with an $6.79 million investment. The new centres are located in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. HGS, which forayed into the Philippines in 2003 with the acquisition of C-Cube, now has 5,000 employees spread across six centres in the country. The report's recommendations are in response to a request by the Office of the Federal Chief Information Officer (CIO) and the Office of the Federal Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for public-private sector insight on how government can transform the way it buys, builds and implements solutions. Themes in the report include ways to leverage commercial best practice methods through modular development, open data, rapid innovation, agility, and reusability. DTI-Davao approves 51 SSF projects in 2013 The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Davao Region was able to approve a total of 51 projects under its Shared Service Facility (SSF) initiative last year. UPM to outsource its occupational health care services in Finland to Dextra UPM and Dextra which is a part of the Pihlajalinna Group have signed a contract to outsource UPM's occupational health care services. HRX will join Seaton's operating brands, which include Staff Management|SMX, PeopleScout and StudentScout and will be known as HRX, a PeopleScout Company.
