He joins NorthgateArinso from Accenture, where he was President and CEO of Accenture BPO Services, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Accenture LLP, the $23B global consulting, technology services and outsourcing company. SSON: Who do you look up to in business and why? Samuel V. Trey Campbell: The people I respect most in business have developed a long career of achievement…a series of successes that taken as a body of work show he/she can adapt to changing times and work through others. Personally, I also gravitate to those that show humility and respect to everyone they work with. Warren Buffet is a great personification of this. SSON: What has been your greatest achievement? SVTC: While there are many business achievements I am proud of, I would have to say raising my two great kids has been by far the most fulfilling. SSON: What is your greatest regret? SVTC: Not spending more time with the family SSON: If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently? SVTC: In my early career, I stayed in a large US corporate environment for many years before branching out into more entrepreneurial and global businesses. If I could go back in time, I would make this move earlier SSON: What looks like the biggest potential for you right now? SVTC: Completing the vision we have established for NorthgateArinso and become the world’s preeminent provider of HR technology and services SSON: What is your favorite occupation? SVTC: I really admire those who are highly adept at developing others. Being somewhere in the teaching/advisor/coaching profession is something I aspire to do at some point in my career SSON: In 10 years time - how do you see your current operation being run? SVTC: I see it as having matured into a very admired and successful enterprise that is widely respected for its expertise and ability to consistently deliver value to its customers SSON: Which management books do you read? SVTC: I like books which rely heavily on real world experience and problem solving. Jack Welch’s "Straight From the Gut" and Lee Iacocca’s "Talking Straight" are both favorites. Right now I am reading Michael Treacy’s "Double Digit Growth" SSON: Who are your favorite writers? SVTC: In the fiction world, I enjoy Michael Crichton and James Rollins SSON: What car do you drive and what should you be driving? SVTC: I drive an Infiniti FX35, which is a great small SUV that doubles as a sports car…fits my life style perfectly SSON: What's your favorite 10 minute dish that you cook yourself? SVTC: I can make a mean grilled cheese sandwich in 8 minutes. SSON: Tell us a behavioral trait we should expect of you SVTC: Perseverance SSON: Reveal one weird thing we don't know about you SVT:C I have a strange affinity for being under water (big scuba diver) SSON: What one question would you put to your peers? SVTC: How much effort do you put into coaching and developing others to lead? SSON: How much of your time and attention is devoted to developing others? SVTC: A great deal. I try to lead by example, but also through targeted feedback, meaningful time spent in discussion and sharing potential solutions, and most importantly, encouraging others to share their thoughts and listening to what they have to say SSON: Which historical figure do you most identify with? SVTC:Vince Lombardi, the legendary coach of the Green Bay Packers SSON: If your job requires a lot of traveling - what is your favorite journey? SVTC: I really enjoy the UK and Europe. It is not an exceedingly long trip, and the variety of cultures, arts and business styles is very educational SSON: What is the quality you most like in men? SVTC: Integrity SSON: What is the quality you most like in women? SVTC: Same as above SSON: What would you like your legacy to be? SVTC: I’d like people to think of me as very good at my chosen profession, not only as an individual contributor, but also as a teacher/developer of the next generation of leaders [inlinead]
