SSON announces Shared Services & Outsourcing Excellence Winners: Europe 2015

This year’s winners of the SSON’s Excellence Awards have just been announced at SSO Week in Amsterdam (read the conference review and summary here). SSON's annual Shared Services Excellence Awards represents achievement on the highest level for shared services operations around the globe. The Excellence Awards are presented at our flagship regional events across the world and cover operations right around the globe. No matter where they are held, SSON's Awards honor, recognize and promote shared services (captive and outsourced) that demonstrate leading practices. These Awards form the industry's benchmark in terms of best practice and process excellence and provide an opportunity for shared services and outsourcing professionals to gain recognition for their achievements and their initiative. Winning an Award is an honor that past recipients have been proud to share with their clients, as well as their organisations-at-large. Note for 2015 Awards/Europe: After reviewing every application, the judges decided to split the "Excellence in Improvement and Innovation" category. The new categories are therefore: "Excellence in Improvement" and "Excellence in Innovation". Congratulations to our 2015 Awards Winners! Hosted by two of SSON's Practitioner Judging Panel (Chris Gunning, VP, Finance, Unisys, and Irina Chernousenko, Former Director, Shared Services Transformation for Bottling Investment Group, Coca Cola), the winning organisations of the six Awards categories, plus our 2015 European Thought Leader of Year, were announced, honored, and celebrated with an large gathering during the 15th Annual European Shared Services & Outsourcing Week. Excellence in VALUE CREATION Winner:Multi-Force Shared Service (Cheshire Constabulary / Northamptonshire Police) Michael Drummond, Commercial Development Manager, was onsite to receive the award for Multi-Force Shared Service. Runner Up: SAP Also short-listed: UniCredit, Siemens AG, Geoban Excellence in CULTURE CREATION Winner: Lufthansa Global Business Services The Lufthansa team receives their first award of the night from the judging panel. Runner Up: Yorkshire Water Also short-listed: Vodafone Excellence in CUSTOMER SERVICE Winner: Vodafone Finance Shared Service Centre The well-deserved Vodafone team picks up their award from Chris and Irina. Runner Up: Siemens Excellence in PEOPLE & COMMUNICATIONS Winner: Orange Polska Shared Service Centre The Orange Polska team shown receiving their award for Excellence in People & Communications. Runner Up: EMC Also short-listed: Coca-Cola Hellenic Excellence in IMPROVEMENT Winner: Lufthansa Global Business Services Smiles all round as the Lufthansa team takes home two awards by the end of the night. Runner Up: Orange Polska Shared Service Centre Also short-listed: EMC Excellence in INNOVATION Winner: NHS NECS With a lot of new entrants this year, NHS NECS stands out as an example of just how much you can achieve in a relatively short space of time. Runner Up: Smith & Nephew Also short-listed: Tate & Lyle 2015 Thought Leader of the Year Award Winner: George Connell - Shell This year, for the first time, SSON's Thought Leader of the Year Award Winner could not be present at the ceremony, due to a injury occurring only days before the conference. Selected by the Judging Panel, the 2015 European Thought Leader of the Year Award went to George Connell at Shell, in recognition of his successful two-decade career, and of the enormous impact he and his team have had on Shell’s operations.
